Another ‘cross-quarter’ holiday, there isn’t much of astronomical interest on this day.
Wicca:
The old God’s strength has left Him – He has fully passed beyond the veil, out of mortal ken and into godhead. With nothing to hold Her to the Underworld, the Goddess returns to the earth and brings with Her the Child of promise – Her son, who is also to be Her consort later in the year. The first flowers, usually daffodils and crocus, poke through the snows and offer the promise of the return of summer.
