So last Sunday as we begin to do our weekly laundry, Melissa notices that the dryer isn’t doing anything. No buzzer, no drum rolling no nothing. So lots of cursing later she heads off to the laundromat, while I head for the interwebs to learn about dryer repair. Then thankfully I find the circuit diagram for the unit behind an access panel. I then learn of something called a Thermal Fuse unit. A small fuse designed to keep your dryer from overheating from clogs and such. Part ordered and with less than 1 hour of work, the part is replaced and good to go. Saving us much money in repairs bills. FYI to get at the good stuff in a Maytag dryer get a flat head screw driver and pry up the top. This site was really helpful in getting our dryer going again.
Well some of you may heard the my beloved jeep was a bit broken. Well after a first round in the shop the problems became alot worse and on inspection it was decided to put a new engine in. Well today she is once running on her own power and back in my driveway.
So I had a chance this weekend to head up to Denver and help put a 3/4 scale X-wing back together. Yes I said 3/4 as in 3/4 of the actual size of what a real x-wing would be. Normally it lives in the Wings over the Rockies air museum but from time to time Lucasarts(who owns it) ships it to events like Celebration 4. It had just come back from Houston for the celebration of one of Luke Skywalker’s light sabers being flown in the space shuttle. On its return a group of hardworking guys and guys converge and put it back together, as well as doing any kind of maintenance. (more…)
