Mythbusters, Weird Al and Necroville

We got tickets to See Jaime and Adam of Mythbusters.  Show was kinda disappointing for what we paid for tickets.  1 hour of them talking about the show and then 30 minutes of kid questions.  For the same price I could have gotten an advanced ticket to D*Con and had 3 days of similar talks…But now I’ve seen all the Mythbusters in person.

Then we saw Weird Al a couple nights later.  For a similar cost I got 3 hours of solid Weird Al entertainment.  Definitely not disappointed by that show.  Although the Star Center where we went is quite literally in the middle of no where.

Then a friend of a friend had a local free showing of the movie Necroville.  It was a independent movie shot in and around Abq.  I can now say I know someone with an IMDB entry.  It was a really great slasher/comedy movie, with the most unique ending of a vampire I have ever seen.  He is looking to get it distributed in the 6 months so look for it.

Is this in my job description?

So over the years I have had many jobs, most came with a basic description of expected duties, while others I helped create a written description. However like life itself on more than one occasion I’ve been asked to do some odd things.

  • Firefighter I mean with actual flames and everything. this one is a double as I’ve done it at 2 different jobs.
  • Sandbag filler Just before big old hurricane threatened to flood our generator, my boss and I spent the morning filling sandbags. Goo thing we had all the computer/network training.
  • Bunny Herder 2 lost cute little bunnies were brought into an office, and then later someone decide to let them run free. Moments later I got the call… “yea my network connection seems to be gone… oh and how do you pick up a rabbit?” quickly 2 bunnies were scoped up, put back in box and a very long fiber optical network cable was replaced.
  • Parking Lot Attendant. Big event lots of visitors to our teeny tiny parking lot. Spent couple hours directing traffic.
