Part of crash's adventure in DragonCon, SW rambling
So once again another Dragon*Con is in the books.
We bought a collection of geek t-shirts, a couple CD from Voltaire(goth singer cynic not the old dead guy cynic) and I got talked into buying something from these guys.
Travel in and out was a piece of cake thanks to the MARTA system. The parade was completely insane, and I am sure by now there are hundreds of picts of me in the flight suit on flickr. Did get to meet up with some other Rebels folks and got a lot of complements on my costume. I even made sure to pose with a couple of guys in ghostbusters gears to show the difference between my costume and theirs. Got more than a few inquiries and complements about the costume. Got to finally meet Micheal Stackpole(the writer who gave Wedge the credit he was due) One of the funny moments I heard was when a bunch of hotel managers in suits noticed that everyone was staring at them like they were dressed weird.
The crowds were way bigger than last year and the construction did put a damper on things(I’m told it will be done before next year) There was some reported incidents of problems including one con-goer getting peppered sprayed. I saw quite a few medical emergencies, most looked like exhaustion/heat related.
All in all a good time was had and some plans for next year are already being discussed. Apparently next year mushi doesn’t want to be the only norm(ie person not in costume)
