It’s Offical

I just got my offical acceptance to the Rebel Legion.(Formal Catagory) I also sold an old an old laptop and ordered my helmet. I’ve aleady started working on my paint scheme. Its gonna be 2 tone with the primary color being Dalmler-Chrysler Patriot Blue(same color as my jeep)  Also ordered a chest box, cause I’m not happy with the scale of mine but It will make a good spare.  Now I am turning my attention to “have a good blaster by my side.”  My inital thought is to mod a drill holster and wait to see the what the new Hasbro blasters comming out next month look like.

It’s away

So I finished with what I am now calling my mark 1 cosutume(the first is getting labeled mark0)  Picts are posted here.  As you can see the new costume has more details and is much closer to canon.  I really like the way the new straps look and work. I also made a better leg flare holder(better sewing and design)  I also tracked down another supplier for helmets and have requested a quote.

You were always on my mind…(star wars)

So this week i finished this next round of alterations on the jumpsuit, mostly minor little tweaks. I also got my machine milled aluminium arm tools from a guy who dress like a cross between Elvis Presley and a Storm Trooper and they are the Hotness(actually i knew they were the hotness when I saw a set at Dragon*Con but now these are mine!!!) The webbing also came in and I have made the first strap, gonna see if I have time today or so to work on the other leg ones. Also modded the chest box a bit, with some hobby clay to make better scale switches and give the top the slope it needed. I really need to sit down soon and just finish the thing up.

In other new Lego Star Wars II came out. While being designed for a kid to play, adults will also enjoy it. While it is pretty short to play through the basic story mode(I’ve already finished ANH) there are lots of extras to unlock. The cut scenes and humor are hysterical. Chewie pops the arms off stormies, Leia has a bitch slap attack and Solo’s animations are priceless. Its is currently available for any platform so you have no reason let this one slide by.

and I got a small nibble on a job, so crossing my fingers on being able to order my flight helmet.

Ladies and Gentleman..

I would now like to introduce you to my Hobby. Star Wars costuming.. Oye that just sounds super geeky.   I am in the process of converting the Mark 0 costume(the one you all think looks good) And converting it into something better.   Not sure when It will be great, but from the chats I had with other members this could definitely be an ongoing never ending thing.  I have already signed up with the appropriate groups for advice and local happenings.  I have also ordered the straps, and learned away to secure them with out tripping on them; ordered the best arm tools out there(my crappy super glue ones kept falling apart) and made a better and more screen accurate com badge; and picked up great looking gloves.  Check here and the gallery for updates as they happen.

Dragon*Con Final Day and wrap up

Sunday was going to see the Auction but when I got there it was not ready so I went next door and saw a very entertaining stage fighting Demo from a husband wife team.  Then I caught some of the Auction(it was kinda lame lots of Kevin Sorbo stuff) so I left and walked into a small group talking to Stephen Furst(Actor who played Flounder from Animal house and Vir from Babylon5) It was him and like 5 of us.  We talked about movies, hobies and the power of netflix, and how he broke his foot.  Got a picture of me and him in the gallery. Dragon*Con day 2

Today was a full day starting with the Costume Parade, found a great spot to watch just above the crowd.  and I can say is how that is a lot of stormtroopers.  Sat in on the BSG pannel and got some of the typical fanboy questions, but the panel seemed to pretty interested and kept things entertaining.  From they implied next season is going to be even darker, which makes me really worried.

Dragon*Con Day 1

Well after a harrowing trip through downtown Atlanta, I made it to the Hyatt Hotel.  Only to find out that thanks to Tropical Strom Ernesto FEMA had taken my room.  The Hyatt asked me to give up my room if I would be willing to stay at the Marriot and offered me 1 night free.  Since its also in the group of Hotels I took the chance.  It turns out that was a great move.  The marriot is the center of the 3 hotels holding the con and a little easier to get around since most of the big rooms are in the Hyatt.  I also get all the fan groups(look for a further update on my chance at joining the Rebel Legion) and the Dealer tables.
