Dragon*Con Departure

Well in a few hours I depart for the Con.  Kinda excited lots of prep has gone into this trip.(new hand sewn dice bag) and this, the pictures you’ve all been waiting for…. My X-Wing fighter pilot Costume.  I have been sewing and crafting that thing for a solid week.  I still need a helmet to complete the look.  One of these days I am going do a write up on how I made each thing.  I’m really happy the way the Life support chest box came out.

Re-Discovering my inner geek

I never really gave up all my geek.  But after moving to NC, and working harder than I should have I definitely become too much of a grown up for Melissa’s tastes, and had a hard time having fun.  So slowly but surely I’ve been embracing the geek in me.  First it was City of Heroes, then a trip to Universal Studios brought comic books back into my life.  My RPG stuff came out of storage and missing bits(like my Dice!!) were replaced.  Now for the next big step.  I got a paid for doing a little tech writing stuff, and per Melissa’s orders I had to do something fun with it. Was gonna get a new top for the Jeep(but she beat me to that), then thought about bigger tires but decided to wait till I actually need new tires.  Finally it came to me. Dragon*Con.  Yep I am going to one of the biggest Sci-fi/Fantasy  Conventions on the East coast. Its in Atlanta so its not too bad of a drive down.
