Well if you ever wondered why the NHL hockey team in North Carolina is called the Hurricanes, you have never spent a summer here. We have, to some extent, been exposed to just about ever tropical storm to hit the US mainland this season. Hurrican Alex brushed our coast and swamped Ocrakoke Island. Bonnie’s engergy cause some flash floods and a couple of tornadoes. Charle(while devestating Fl) still left his mark on the eastern half of the state. Gaston seem to pop up almost from nothing off the South Carolina coast Friday night and should be here Monday. So while this is going on Hurricane Frances is now building to a strong class 4 and is making her way west towards the Bahamas. For lastest on our stormy season check out NOAA.
I still say that it beats any Blizzard/Snow Storm New England ever threw at me.
